Dreadlocks
By using the ‘crochet method’ to create locs we are ensuring their success from the beginning. This method requires only a comb, a crochet hook, and lots of love. This technique is suited to all hair types and creates beautiful, lasting locs. It is non-damaging to your hair and assists in the locking process.
Extensions
Dreadlock Extensions can be created to add length, volume, and even color to new or existing locs. Loc extensions are created by using 100% Human Hair, woven directly into the loc. This allows for a seamless and strong bond. We can custom create loc extensions of any length or color desired. Who doesn’t love long locs?
Partials
Partial locs can be singular locs or multiple rows, it all depends on the desired outcome. Partials are a good way to start your loc journey or just a fun way to add some volume and extra texture to your loose hair. They can be worn and worked into so many hairstyles and give a great boho vibe.
Maintenance
Dreadlock Maintenance is the process of cleaning up locs, pulling in loose hair and new growth and completing any necessary repairs. This is done using ‘crochet method’, no oils, waxes or rubber bands. This is the safest method for your hair and creates the longest lasting effect. Happy Scalps are important. Locs need love too.

Savannah Gowdy
My name is Savannah Gowdy. I am the creator and owner of ‘Ramble and Root Dreadlock Studio’. I opened my first small studio in 2019 and I have been expanding the business and my skills ever since. After years of working in different professions and never feeling fully satisfied, I decided to take risks and follow my own dreams. I could not be happier with my decision. I am blessed to meet the most amazing people every day. I am no longer stuck behind a computer, I am doing what I love and making the world more beautiful.
I specialize in all things locs. This includes dreadlocks, dreadlock extensions, dreadlock repair, partials, maintenance, detoxification, decoration…I believe in changing the narrative on locs. Education and proper care are essential to keeping your locs as beautiful as you.
Everyone’s personal path is different, as is every dreadlock journey. I adore teaching clients about their locs, at-home care, and appropriate product usage. I am here to break stigmas, create beauty and confidence, and help clients have the hair of their dreams.

I highly recommend Savannah for your dreadlock needs. Before I came to her I had fried, broken hair that was thin and short. She gave me two rows of dreadlocks which totaled 9 dreads. She decorated them with colored string, beads, and even a shell. I was surprised by how fast and gentle she was. And how much fun I had chatting with her. A month later I gave Savannah a call because I was so in love with the volume and length the dreadlock extensions gave me I had to get more! So I got another row which now brings my total up to 14 dreads. I’m in love with my dreads and treasure my new friendship with the dreadlock goddess herself.

Dreadlock care
Follow these guidelines to ensure success. Here’s a few tips:
- Wait to wash for at least 2 weeks after creation and after each maintenance session. The faster you wash, the faster you frizz
- Wash 1 to 2 times per week based on need
- Palm Roll 2x per week, best done after washing when hair is slightly damp.
- Separate locs at the roots periodically and after washing.
- Massaging and stretching locs can help alleviate bumps and length loss
- Rinse with cold water- it helps with the fuzziness
- Do not put oil or any type of moisturizer in baby locs. Oil can be used to soften mature locs.
- Never allow anyone to put any wax or other product in your hair without the proper knowledge
- Never allow anyone to interlock your roots
- Tightening spray helps locs mature, use 1-2 x per week or when needing a quick fix.
- Maintenance is recommended every 3-6 months based on preference.
- Never put scissors to your hair without calling me first.
